STOP Transource Power Lines MD, Inc. is a citizens’ action committee composed of affected landowners and others, formed for the following purposes:
1 – Educate and organize the citizens of Maryland and Pennsylvania to oppose the Independence Energy Connection Project (IEC-East) which is proposed to be constructed in northwestern Harford County by Transource Maryland LLC.
2 – Develop strategies and take action in opposition to the construction of the IEC before the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC)
3 – Retain the services of legal counsel and other professionals in the implementation of opposition actions before the PSC
4 – Educate and organize the community to lobby the Maryland State Legislators to develop and pass legislation to direct and limit the manner in which energy transmission projects may be approved by the PSC, so to protect private property from unfounded actions of Eminent Domain in the construction of high voltage power line towers in new (greenfield) easements
5 – Collect contributions from interested parties to fund the purposes of STOP Transource Power Lines MD, Inc.
STOP Transource Power Lines MD, Inc. is organized as a 501(c)(4) community organization. Contributions are not eligible for recognition as a charitable contribution on the contributor’s personal income tax return.
